About Us

We are ZAM ZAM ENTERPRISES, an India-based apparel manufacturer and exporter, and the manufacturer of 5BROS brand.

We manufacture T-shirts, polos, oversized T-shirts, hoodies, sportswear garments for wholesale, private-label, OEM and institutional customers.

We are currently exploring expansion into East African markets, particularly Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia.

Before making significant steps in these markets, we want to understand the real market situation on the ground.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for local sales/market research agents who are physically based in Kenya, can conduct genuine field-level research.

This is NOT a desk-research-only project.

You should be able to visit local markets, wholesalers, distributors and potential business customers and collect information directly from the market.

Initial Task – Ground Reality Market Research

The selected agent will be assigned a specific city/market and a defined research task.

Your responsibilities may include:

1. Market Mapping

Identify major T-shirt and apparel wholesale markets
Identify important retail markets
Identify wholesalers, distributors and importers
Identify promotional apparel suppliers
Identify uniform suppliers
Identify institutional apparel buyers

2. Product Research

Identify fast-moving T-shirt styles
Round-neck T-shirts
Polo T-shirts
Oversized T-shirts
Sportswear
Hoodies
Plain/basic T-shirts
School/company/uniform T-shirts

3. Standard Size and Price Research
Collect actual Size Chart and market selling prices for relevant products.

4. Buyer Research

Identify genuine potential B2B buyers such as:

Garment wholesalers

5. Ground Verification
We want real information, not copied internet data.

The agent may be required to:
Visit markets physically
Speak with sellers/buyers
Take permitted photographs of market/product displays
Collect business cards/contact details
Record WhatsApp/phone/email information
Ask basic questions about sourcing and demand
Verify whether a business is genuinely active

6. Competitor Research

Identify:
Local brands
Imported brands
Chinese suppliers
Turkish suppliers
Indian suppliers
Other major sources

Understand what products they sell and their approximate price positioning.

At the end of the task, you must provide:

The information should be submitted in Google Sheets/Excel + a concise written report.

Important: This Is a Ground-Level Assignment

We are specifically interested in freelancers who can provide first-hand local market information.

Please do not apply if you intend to complete the entire assignment through Google, social media or online directories without visiting the market.

We want someone who can actually go PHYSICALLY into the market and tell us:

What is selling? Who is buying? At what price? From whom? What quality do they expect? And where is the opportunity for an Indian manufacturer like us?

Preferred Candidate

You should:

Be physically located in Kenya.
Have good knowledge of your local apparel market
Have experience in sales, business development or market research
Be comfortable visiting markets and businesses
Have good communication skills
Be able to communicate in English
Have a smartphone for calls, WhatsApp and photographs
Be comfortable using Google Sheets/Excel
Be honest and accurate with collected information
Be able to work independently

Previous experience in apparel, textiles, uniforms, wholesale, distribution or FMCG sales is a strong advantage.

Compensation

This is a task-based paid project.

The initial assignment will have a clearly defined scope and milestone.

Quality of research
Depth of information collected

Strong performers may be offered additional paid assignments and a longer-term Sales & Business Development role.

This first assignment is intended to evaluate the freelancer's local knowledge, field capability, quality of research and business development skills.

If the research is successful, we would like to build a longer-term relationship with selected agents in Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia for the expansion of our apparel business.

We are looking for local market knowledge — not just online research.
