Greenfield Apigee–Oracle Integration

I’m starting with a blank slate on Google Cloud and need a full Apigee implementation that will expose my existing Oracle-based services through modern, secure, and well-governed APIs. The aim is to stand up a production-ready platform—build the first set of proxies, wire in security policies, and turn on analytics—so internal teams can consume the Oracle functionality without touching the legacy stack.
Scope
• Stand up an Apigee X (or Edge, if you advise differently) org in my GCP project, configure environments, key stores, KMS integration, and CICD hooks.
• Design and implement at least one end-to-end API proxy that fronts an Oracle REST/SQL service, complete with routing, transformation, caching, and fault-handling policies.
• Apply OAuth 2.0 or service-account based security, plus standard threat-protection policies (quota, spike arrest, JSON/XML threat protection).
• Enable out-of-the-box analytics dashboards and show me how to create custom reports that surface latency, error rates, and traffic patterns.
• Document the setup clearly and walk me through deployment so my team can replicate the pattern for additional services.
Acceptance Criteria
1. A running Apigee organisation reachable through a custom domain on GCP.
2. At least one Oracle-backed API reachable via a secure, throttled, and documented endpoint.
3. Real-time analytics visible in the Apigee UI, with sample custom dashboards saved.
4. Git-based deploy scripts or pipelines that reproduce the environment from scratch.
5. Hand-off session and concise run-book.
Preferred skill set includes strong Apigee policy development, familiarity with Oracle integration (JDBC, REST, or OIC), and solid GCP IAM/networking know-how. If you’ve done greenfield builds before and can move fast while leaving us with maintainable assets, let’s talk.
Project objectives:
• Establish a centralized, secure, and scalable API gateway based on Google Apigee for both internal and external API consumers.
• Standardize API lifecycle management, governance, security, and monitoring across the digital ecosystem.
• Onboard, secure, and expose Oracle Fusion and OTM APIs (using their published Swagger / OpenAPI specifications) through Apigee.
• Provide a self-service Developer Portal for API discovery, documentation, application registration, and API key management.
• Enable observability, threat protection, and analytics across all APIs published on the platform.
