I’m preparing to file a legal case and require a certified digital-forensics professional to extract and document two kinds of evidence:
• Precise GPS data that proves presence (or absence) at a specific address on several stated dates.
• All messages sent or received around those same time-frames.
Scope of work
The primary device in question is a mobile phone. In addition, the Lexus vehicle’s onboard system (telematics or infotainment head-unit) must be imaged
Key requirements
• Forensically sound acquisition—bit-by-bit imaging with full chain-of-custody documentation.
• Recovery of timestamped location points and route fragments that place the phone or car at the named address on the specified dates.
• Extraction of SMS, chat app, or other stored messages covering the same periods.
• Clear, courtroom-ready report summarising findings, methodology, tool versions (Cellebrite, Oxygen, EnCase, etc.), hashes, and any limitations.
Deliverables
1. Forensic images (raw + E01 or similar) of the phone and vehicle system.
2. Structured spreadsheets or timelines of recovered GPS coordinates with timestamps.
3. Transcripts or exported databases of relevant messages.
4. Expert report in PDF, signed and ready for affidavit or testimony if required.
Acceptance criteria
Results must be reproducible by an independent examiner, with matching hash values and identical location/message sets when the same procedures are followed.
If you have previous courtroom experience and the tooling to acquire both mobile and automotive data securely, let’s discuss next steps and scheduling so I can move forward with my filing.
