We are looking for an experienced travel technology developer to build a global travel comparison and booking platform using managed WordPress.

The platform will compare live prices and availability from multiple travel suppliers. Customers must be able to search, compare, book, pay and receive confirmation without leaving our website.

Travel Categories

The platform should be modular and support as many approved categories as possible, including:

Hotels and accommodation
Flights
Vacation rentals
Car rentals
Airport transfers
Tours, attractions and activities
Travel insurance
Cruises and other travel services where suitable APIs are available
Mandatory API Workflow

The platform must use approved B2B reseller, distribution or end-to-end booking APIs, such as:

Booking.com Demand API using the Search, Look and Book model
Expedia Rapid API
Other suitable travel supplier APIs that support booking within our platform

The workflow must operate as follows:

The customer searches for a travel service on our website.
Our backend requests live inventory, availability and prices from approved supplier APIs.
Results from different providers are organised and compared within our branded interface.
Duplicate hotels or equivalent offers must be matched correctly where technically possible.
The customer selects an offer and views the complete price, taxes, fees, policies and inclusions.
The system revalidates the price and availability before payment.
The customer enters traveller and payment information on our website.
The booking is created through the supplier’s booking API.
The confirmation number, itinerary, ticket or voucher is displayed and emailed to the customer.
Customers can retrieve and manage bookings, including cancellations or refund requests where supported by the API.

Affiliate commission or reseller margin must be tracked through API credentials, affiliate IDs or partner references in the backend.

Strictly Excluded

The platform must not use:

Ordinary affiliate links
Redirect or click-out APIs
External provider checkout pages
Affiliate widgets
Embedded provider websites or iframes
Provider deep links
Pop-ups asking customers to download a provider’s mobile application
Website scraping

The customer must not be redirected to Booking.com, Expedia or another consumer travel website to complete a booking.

Only suppliers that approve an end-to-end booking workflow may be included in the confirmed integration scope.

Comparison Features

The website must provide:

Live comparison of prices from connected suppliers
Total-price comparison including available taxes and fees
Filters and sorting appropriate to each travel category
Hotel information, photos, facilities, policies and reviews where supplied
Flight schedules, airlines, baggage allowances, fare rules and cabin classes
Cancellation and refund conditions
Multiple currencies
Responsive mobile and desktop design
Saved searches, favourites and customer accounts
Booking history and confirmation retrieval
WordPress and Backend Requirements

WordPress will be used for the website, content management and administration. The developer may build a secure custom WordPress plugin or API middleware to handle the travel integrations.

The system must include:

Secure server-side API communication
Protection of API credentials
Live price rechecking
API caching and rate-limit management
Webhook and booking-status handling
Error handling for changed prices, unavailable inventory and failed bookings
Secure payment integration and 3-D Secure support where required
Transaction and API activity logs
Fast performance on managed WordPress hosting
Architecture prepared for future English and Arabic/RTL support
Administration Dashboard

Administrators must be able to:

View and manage customers and bookings
View supplier, commission and reseller-margin information
Apply global or category-specific markups where permitted
View payment and refund statuses
Monitor failed bookings and API errors
Enable or disable suppliers and travel categories
Manage currencies, website content and promotional offers
View searches, conversions, revenue and profit reports
First Project Milestone

Before full development begins, the selected freelancer must:

Recommend suitable end-to-end reseller APIs for every proposed category.
Confirm which APIs support complete booking within our website.
Identify API approval requirements, deposits, minimum sales requirements and ongoing costs.
Separate confirmed integrations from integrations that depend on supplier approval.
Submit the proposed technical architecture and implementation schedule.

Provider approval cannot be assumed. Redirect-only APIs must not be presented as acceptable alternatives.

Deliverables
Complete managed WordPress travel platform
Custom API integration plugin or middleware
Responsive branded frontend
Customer booking and payment workflow
Administration dashboard
Booking emails, itineraries and vouchers
Testing in supplier sandbox and production environments
Deployment and configuration
Technical documentation and administrator guide
Full ownership and handover of all custom source code
Proposal Requirements

Please include:

Examples of travel API or booking platforms you have developed
The exact APIs you recommend for each category
Confirmation that you understand the difference between redirect affiliate APIs and end-to-end reseller booking APIs
Proposed architecture
Development timeline
Fixed project cost
API, hosting and third-party recurring costs
Post-launch maintenance terms

Generic proposals without relevant travel API experience will not be considered.
