This is a full-time, two-year contract to design, build, and maintain a production-grade MERN application from the ground up. The entire stack—front end, back end, and database—will sit with one developer, so deep, hands-on experience across each layer is essential.

Stack and tooling
The current plan leans on Node.js for server logic, Next.js for rendering and routing, and MongoDb for data persistence. Everything should be wired together with clean, testable JavaScript/TypeScript, Git-based workflows, and familiar DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerisation, cloud hosting of your choice).

Daily responsibilities
• Craft responsive, interactive UIs that feel native on web and mobile.
• Implement rock-solid user authentication and role-based access.
• Build REST/GraphQL endpoints and integrate them with the MongoDb data model.
• Optimise queries, indexes, and backups to keep data fast and safe.
• Ship iterative features in weekly sprints, write tests, review your own code, and document as you go.

Contract terms
• Duration: 24 months, 40 hrs/week (full-time).
• Commitment: individual contributor only—no agencies or team hand-offs.
• Experience: a minimum of three years in real-world MERN projects is non-negotiable; portfolio links or repos will be reviewed.

Acceptance criteria
1. All features listed above meet functional specs and pass unit/integration tests.
2. UI achieves >90 % Lighthouse performance and responsive design scores.
3. Code merges cleanly into main branch with CI checks green.

I will provide product requirements, UI wireframes, and access to existing assets; you provide the complete working codebase, tests, and deployment scripts. Continuous communication happens through Slack and weekly video stand-ups. If that sounds like the perfect long-term fit, prepare to dive straight into sprint one.
