Full-Time China Sourcing & Procurement Freelancer – 1688

We are an India-based wholesale business dealing in artificial jewellery and other fashion accessories, with regular sourcing and purchasing from China.

We are looking for an experienced, responsible and reliable China Sourcing & Procurement Freelancer who can work with us on a full-time and long-term basis.

This is not a short-term project. We are looking for someone who can become a long-term part of our procurement operations and handle day-to-day communication and purchasing activities with our Chinese suppliers and China-based agent.

Job Responsibilities

The selected freelancer will be responsible for:

1. 1688 Product Sourcing

- Search and source products from 1688 based on the product requirements, pictures, links and specifications provided by us.
- Find suitable suppliers/factories offering good quality and competitive prices.
- Compare different suppliers and quotations before finalizing the supplier.
- Check product details, MOQ, available quantity, colours, sizes, variations, packaging, etc.

2. Price Negotiation

- Negotiate with Chinese suppliers on our behalf.
- Try to achieve the best possible wholesale price for every product.
- Negotiate based on our required quantities and future/repeat business.
- Communicate professionally with suppliers and maintain good supplier relationships.
- Understand Chinese supplier responses and negotiate effectively in Chinese.

3. Order Placement

Once we approve the final product, supplier and price:

- Place the order with the supplier through 1688.
- Confirm the exact quantity, variations, colours and specifications.
- Make sure the supplier receives the correct order requirements.
- Follow up with the supplier until the order is properly processed.

4. Chinese Agent Coordination

We already work with a China-based Chinese agent/warehouse.

The freelancer will need to coordinate closely with our agent regarding:

- Order placement
- Supplier details
- Order quantities
- Product prices
- Payment/order status
- Supplier follow-ups
- Shipment arrangements
- Goods received at the warehouse
- Any discrepancies or issues

The freelancer will act as the communication bridge between our company, Chinese suppliers and our China-based agent.

5. Order Follow-Up & Management

- Regularly follow up with suppliers regarding production and dispatch.
- Track pending orders.
- Confirm when suppliers ship the goods.
- Coordinate with our China agent regarding incoming shipments.
- Resolve issues such as shortage, wrong products, damaged products, wrong colours/variations, delays, etc.
- Maintain proper records of all orders and supplier communications.

6. Price Quotations & Reporting

The freelancer will also be required to:

- Collect final supplier prices.
- Prepare clear price quotations for us.
- Maintain an organized record of product links, supplier details, quantities, negotiated prices and order status.
- Update us regularly regarding pending and completed orders.

Required Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

- Strong practical experience with 1688.com
- Experience in China product sourcing/procurement
- Experience negotiating with Chinese factories/suppliers
- Strong Chinese communication skills
- Ability to communicate with suppliers directly in Chinese
- Understanding of 1688 ordering and purchasing procedures
- Good negotiation skills
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple orders simultaneously
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Good knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel
- Responsible and reliable working attitude

Important Requirement

Experience with Chinese suppliers and 1688 is highly preferred.

We are NOT looking for someone who only knows how to search products on 1688.

We need someone who can actually communicate with Chinese suppliers, negotiate prices, place orders, coordinate with our China agent and manage the complete purchasing process from sourcing to shipment.

The candidate should be comfortable communicating with Chinese suppliers on a daily basis and should understand how Chinese suppliers normally negotiate and operate.
