I have a set of documents currently written in French that I need rendered into clear, idiomatic English. These are text-only files—no websites or advertising copy—so accuracy at the sentence level and consistency of terminology are critical.
What I expect:
• A faithful English version of each French document, delivered in the original file format (Word or PDF).
• Layout and basic formatting preserved wherever practical.
• A short comment log for any phrases that required interpretation or were potentially ambiguous.
Ideal approach:
Translate meaning over word-for-word equivalence, double-check grammar, and proof the final text so it is publication-ready. Familiarity with CAT tools such as Trados or MemoQ is a plus but not mandatory; a polished result is what matters most.
Please let me know your turnaround time and any relevant experience translating French documents into English.
