Freelance Designer for Family Wear Brand

Job Title: Freelance Fashion & Technical Designer (Remote with Site Visits) – Commercial Family Wear (Ages 0-35)

Location: Remote (Mandatory travel to our manufacturing plant in Bihar for sampling/production runs)

Engagement: Project-based / Freelance Contract (with potential for long-term seasonal collections)

About Us:
We are a fast-growing, vertically integrated Readymade Garment (RMG) brand launching in the Bihar market. Backed by our own state-of-the-art physical manufacturing plant, our core mission is to deliver high-quality, trend-forward, and highly affordable apparel for the entire family—covering Kids, Teenagers, and Young Adults (Male & Female, Ages 0-35).

We are skipping outsourced manufacturing to leverage our own factory floor, and we are looking for a sharp, production-friendly Fashion Designer who can bridge the gap between commercial market trends and optimized factory output.

What You Will Do:

* Design commercial, high-volume seasonal collections across kids (0-12), teens (13-19), and young adults (20-35).
* Deliver production-ready, highly accurate Tech Packs (PDF/Excel) containing detailed flat sketches (CAD), Bill of Materials (BOM), and grading matrices.
* Optimize garment construction panels to maximize fabric marker efficiency and minimize cutting floor wastage in our plant.
* Source or recommend commercially available fabrics and trims suitable for the Tier-2 and Tier-3 demographic, focusing on climate-resilient, cost-effective materials.

*Direct Production Communication: Maintain daily/weekly direct communication (via video calls/WhatsApp) with our factory’s in-house Pattern Master and Sampling Tailors to resolve stitching complexities and speed up the production line.
* Mandatory Factory Visits: Travel to our manufacturing plant in Bihar during critical sampling phases and right before mass production to physically inspect the product line, approve first-run samples, and ensure strict adherence to launch deadlines.

What We Are Looking For:

* Degree in Fashion Design from NIFT or a top-tier design institute.
* 2+ years of experience designing for mass-market commercial retail chains or regional Indian volume brands (e.g., V-Mart, Max Fashion, Reliance Trends, Vishal Mega Mart).
* Exceptional proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or specialized apparel CAD software.
* Deep technical understanding of garment construction, stitching standards, and sizing scales for the Indian demographic.
* Willingness to travel and work hands-on with factory floor personnel (tailors, masters, cutting managers).
* Portfolio demonstrating commercially successful everyday wear and completed tech packs (Purely conceptual or runway portfolios will not be considered).

Travel & Compensation:

* Travel, boarding, and lodging expenses for the mandatory factory site visits to Bihar will be fully covered/reimbursed by the company.
