Summary
I'm a UK-based freelance digital marketing contractor looking for a reliable virtual assistant to manage my contract application pipeline.
What you'll do:
- Check Upwork, LinkedIn, and other UK/international freelance and remote job boards daily for suitable contract roles — not limited to LinkedIn, and not limited to UK-based roles
- Filter listings against a simple fit checklist I'll provide (day rate, sector, contract length)
- Tailor my CV and cover note for each application using templates I'll give you — every application should be genuinely relevant to the role, not a copy-paste with the company name swapped
- Submit applications, or prepare drafts for my review depending on the platform
- Maintain a simple application tracker (spreadsheet provided)
- Flag anything that needs my direct input — rate discussion, calls, contract terms
TARGET: A minimum of 20 tailored applications a week. Quality still comes first — use the templates to work efficiently, but I'd rather have fewer strong applications than a high volume of generic ones. Success is measured in interviews booked, not applications sent.
HOURS: 10 hours a week to start, with room to grow as application volume increases.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent written English — this is the single most important requirement
- Must write in British English spelling and phrasing, not American. Please set your spellcheck to English (UK)
- Comfortable with a direct, no-fluff UK business tone, or willing to strictly follow a style guide
- Organised, reliable, comfortable with spreadsheets
- Available for regular daily check-ins with some overlap with UK working hours
- Prior VA, admin, or recruitment experience is a plus but not required
How I work: I'll give you full templates and a written SOP before you start — you won't be guessing at tone or process. I review the tracker regularly and give direct feedback. I'd rather you flag uncertainty early than submit something that isn't right.
To apply: tell me about any relevant experience, your availability, and — as a bonus — write a 100-word cover note for a made-up marketing job so I can see your writing style.
