I’m putting together a mash-up Freddy Krueger-meets-pirate costume and the last piece I need is a custom baldric that really sells the look. I want it built from full-grain leather, dyed a rich brown that can be lightly distressed so it feels like it has survived a few boiler-room battles at sea. The overall style should be decorative—think bold brass or antiqued-steel buckles, a few tasteful embellishments, maybe some claw-mark tooling or etched striping that nods to Freddy’s sweater without becoming a novelty prop.
I’ll provide my chest and shoulder measurements as well as photos of the sword and glove I’ll be wearing so you can size the frog and any keeper straps correctly. I’m looking for solid hand-stitched construction, clean burnished edges, and hardware securely riveted so I can actually wear this piece all day at a convention. Progress shots as you cut, tool, dye, and finish the leather will help me give feedback before everything is set.
The final deliverable is the finished baldric, fully conditioned and ready to strap on, plus a quick note on leather care so I can keep it looking menacing for years. If you have questions about design details or turnaround time, let’s iron them out early—I’m happy to hop on a quick call or swap reference sketches to make sure this comes out exactly right.
