# Formula Student Vehicle Prototype – The Interceptor
## Project Overview
**The Interceptor** is a Formula Student vehicle prototype developed as a team-based engineering project, where I contributed to the design, development, manufacturing, and vehicle dynamics aspects of the vehicle.
The project involved taking the vehicle from the engineering design stage toward a functional physical prototype, requiring close coordination between multiple departments and extensive teamwork.
## My Role & Responsibilities
I worked as part of the **Manufacturing Department** as well as the **Vehicle Dynamics team**, contributing to both the physical development of the vehicle and its performance-related engineering.
### Manufacturing
* Worked on the manufacturing and fabrication of vehicle components.
* Assisted in converting CAD/design concepts into manufacturable components.
* Involved in fabrication, assembly, fitting, and integration of components.
* Coordinated with other departments to ensure proper fitment and compatibility.
* Worked as part of a multidisciplinary team during prototype development.
* Gained hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, workshop practices, and vehicle assembly.
### Vehicle Dynamics
* Contributed to the vehicle dynamics development of the Formula Student car.
* Worked on understanding and improving vehicle handling and performance.
* Considered factors such as **weight distribution, suspension behaviour, handling, stability, and overall vehicle performance**.
* Worked with the team to integrate vehicle dynamics requirements with the mechanical design and manufacturing process.
* Participated in the development and testing stages of the vehicle prototype.
## Teamwork & Engineering Experience
A major part of this project was **cross-functional teamwork**. The vehicle required collaboration between different engineering departments, including design, manufacturing, vehicle dynamics, and other supporting teams.
Working on **The Interceptor** gave me practical experience in taking an engineering concept toward a real-world prototype while working within team constraints, manufacturing limitations, and vehicle performance requirements.
## Key Skills Demonstrated
* Formula Student Vehicle Development
* Mechanical Engineering
* Vehicle Dynamics
* Manufacturing & Fabrication
* Prototype Development
* CAD-to-Manufacturing Workflow
* Vehicle Assembly & Integration
* Suspension & Handling Fundamentals
* Engineering Teamwork
* Problem Solving
* Design–Manufacturing Coordination
* Practical Automotive Engineering
**Project Type:** Formula Student / Student Racing Vehicle
**Role:** Manufacturing + Vehicle Dynamics
**Project Nature:** Team-Based Vehicle Design, Manufacturing & Prototype Development
