I need a concise Pine Script that focuses purely on analysing Forex price action for trend direction. The goal is not to open or manage trades but to scan a chosen currency pair on TradingView, determine whether the market is in an up-trend, down-trend or ranging, and then plot that information clearly on the chart.
Key details
• Scope: analyse financial data only—no order execution logic.
• Market: Forex pairs (I will set the symbol manually).
• Method: any sensible combination of moving-average relationships, recent swing highs/lows or other reliable techniques you prefer, as long as false signals are minimised.
• Output: a coloured background or label that states “Up”, “Down” or “Range” plus an optional table box showing the current trend state and last trend change time.
Deliverables
1. TradingView Pine Script v5 file.
2. Brief comments inside the code so I can tweak parameters such as look-back length.
3. One-page note summarising how the trend logic works and the inputs I can adjust.
Acceptance criteria
• When I load the script on EURUSD, GBPUSD and USDJPY it must plot without errors.
• Trend changes must align reasonably with obvious visual shifts in direction when viewed on the daily timeframe.
• Execution time on TradingView must remain below the platform’s default limit.
Please confirm your proposed approach and estimated turnaround.
