Working title:A Football Mom's Playbook. This is a practical, encouraging digital guide for single mothers whose child plays football, from youth league through high school. It is not a football-technique manual. It teaches a mom who may never have played the game how to support, feed, protect, and advocate for her player while running a household on one income. It reads like a warm, direct conversation with a mentor who has been through it, with checklists and word-for-word scripts she can use that same week.
The reader
• A single mother, roughly 28 to 50, working full-time or close to it, with a child aged about 8 to 17 playing [tackle/flag / both].
• Her child is a son. Write inclusively
• She often feels she cannot fully "coach" the sport, worries about being judged on the sideline, and watches the budget closely.
• She reads on her phone in short windows: school pickup, practice waiting, late evenings.
The promise
After reading, she knows what her role is, what to say and not say around games, how to feed and protect her player on a budget, how to handle losses and setbacks, and how to plan the next level, without needing a partner or football background.
Voice and tone
• Warm, confident, and respectful of her time; never pitying, never preachy, never male-bashing.
• Second person ("you"), short paragraphs, plain words, occasional humor.
• The author's credibility comes from [his experience as an athlete, not as a coach]. Interview the author for stories and perspective, and do not present the book as written by a coach or medical professional.
