I am looking for an experienced mobile UI/UX designer to create a polished, interactive first-time user guide for my dating app, Endorse.
Endorse helps singles meet people who have received positive endorsements from others. For example, if someone was kind and respectful on a date, another user could endorse them for Kindness. Users can then filter and discover people based on the qualities that matter to them, such as kindness, respect, humour, or thoughtfulness. The purpose is to encourage positive behaviour and help create a safer, more intentional dating community.
What I Need
I need a mandatory first-run onboarding experience that every new user completes before they can enter the main dashboard.
This should not be a basic set of static welcome slides. I want an interactive, step-by-step experience using:
Spotlight overlays / coach marks
Guided taps and tooltips
Progress indicators
Simple animations where useful
A clickable demo example of how an endorsement is given
Clear, warm, trust-building microcopy
The user should understand exactly what an endorsement is, why it matters, how to give one, how it appears on profiles, and how it can help them find people with qualities they value.
Required User Journey
The onboarding should cover:
Welcome to Endorse
Explain the concept of meeting singles who have been positively recognised by others.
What an endorsement means
Example: “They were kind and respectful on a date.”
How to give an endorsement
Walk the user through choosing a quality, such as Kind, and submitting an endorsement.
How endorsements appear on a profile
Show how positive qualities may be displayed in a clear, respectful way.
Filter by what matters to you
Demonstrate how a user can filter profiles by a quality, for example: “Find people endorsed as kind.”
Why this builds a safer community
Explain that recognising positive behaviour helps encourage respect, accountability, and more thoughtful dating experiences.
What the user gains
Show that users can find people who align with their values and build a stronger profile through how they treat others.
Completion screen
A final CTA such as: “Start discovering authentic singles”, which then unlocks the main dashboard.
Deliverables
User flow for the full first-run onboarding process
Wireframes and high-fidelity mobile UI designs
Interactive Figma prototype
Mobile designs suitable for both iOS and Android
All overlay, tooltip, animation, and interaction specifications
UX copy suggestions for each screen
Developer-ready Figma handover, including components, assets, and annotations
At least one revision round after feedback
Ideal Freelancer
Please apply if you have experience with:
Mobile app UI/UX design
Figma and interactive prototypes
First-time-user onboarding or product tours
Social, community, dating, marketplace, or trust-and-safety apps
Designing clear, intuitive mobile experiences
Writing or improving short in-app UX copy
Please share examples from your portfolio that show mobile onboarding, guided interactions, or consumer-app experiences. Also include your estimated timeline, pricing
Important: This is an early-stage app, so shortlisted freelancers may be asked to sign an NDA before receiving further product details.
I also need three concrete upgrades:
1. Diagnose and fix a persistent photo-upload failure that several users have reported across multiple Android and iOS devices. The bug does not throw visible errors in Crashlytics, so assume it may involve permission handling, image compression, or platform channel calls. The end result must be a reliably working uploader on both platforms.
3. Add a mandatory, first-run interactive guide that walks new users through the “endorsing” feature—what it is, how to perform it, why it builds a safer community, and the personal benefits they gain. Think step-by-step overlay or spotlight coach marks that users must complete before they reach the main dashboard.
4. Make sure that the current features actually work.
-endorsing others
-filter by endorsements
Deliverables
• Localized ARB (or JSON) files and any amended Dart code
• Fully functional, cross-platform photo upload module with commit notes on the fix
• Interactive onboarding flow integrated into the existing navigation, respecting current theming and localization
• Clean, commented commits ready for pull request and a short deployment guide
Kindly attach past work that shows both Flutter localization and feature implementation. I will review those examples first when shortlisting.
