Fix Slow Dashboard & Reports on a New Laravel / PostgreSQL Website
Hi,
We have a small, newly built website using Laravel, PostgreSQL and Azure Container Apps. Some dashboard and reporting pages load slowly, and we need someone to find the cause, fix it and verify the improvement on the website.
We need a lasting fix for the underlying cause, not just a diagnosis or a temporary workaround. The solution must preserve existing functionality, permissions and data accuracy, with measurable improvement verified on the affected website pages.
Some historical inspection records were imported. We have already carried out several checks, but the cause of the website slowdown has not yet been established.
WHAT WE HAVE CHECKED
- Browser tests before and after an earlier update showed approximately 45 seconds for the analytics request, with no meaningful improvement.
- A matched browser/server test took approximately 52 seconds, with most of the delay inside server processing. Data enrichment took around 34.5 seconds, and permission checks plus audit recording took around 9.2 seconds.
- We tested an incremental reporting approach locally using synthetic datasets of 8,000 and 80,000 inspection records. Some local results improved, but this approach has not been adopted by the website dashboard.
- A separate PostgreSQL planning experiment improved local timing by only 6.4% and was reverted.
We have a detailed, sanitized summary of the tests and their limitations to share. Please use this existing work and explain any additional checks you need.
WHAT WE NEED
1. Identify the main cause of the slow requests using measurements.
2. Implement a focused, maintainable fix.
3. Check the affected dashboard and reporting pages, including related requests that contribute to slow loading.
4. Preserve existing permissions, separation of data between workspaces, accurate reports and individual audit records.
5. Provide comparable before/after results, a short explanation of the changes and rollback instructions.
The aim is a measurable improvement in the website experience. Diagnosis alone will not complete the project.
Work will start in a Staging test environment with limited, approved access. Deployment or changes outside the agreed scope must be approved first.
STARTING BUDGET: $100 USD
This is an initial budget for the project. Please quote for diagnosis, implementation and verification, with a clear breakdown. If you need to diagnose the issue before confirming the repair price, explain this in your proposal. Any additional cost must be agreed before that work begins.
Please include:
- Relevant Laravel/PostgreSQL performance experience, preferably with Azure.
- Your proposed approach and minimum access requirements.
- Your price, estimated completion time and what is included.
We are looking for a practical solution appropriate for a small, new website.
