Fix Google Ads Duplicate Conversions

My Shopify store is firing multiple purchase events into Google Ads ever since I tweaked a few settings inside the Ads interface. Shopify’s own Analytics looks clean, so the problem sits squarely inside Google Ads: every genuine sale is being logged twice (sometimes more), inflating ROAS and confusing Smart Bidding.

I need someone who knows the crossover between Shopify, Google Ads, and Google Tag Manager well enough to:

• trace where the extra purchase signals are coming from (whether it’s global-site-tag, GA4, or a rogue GTM container)
• remove or disable the duplicate trigger without losing historic data or breaking remarketing audiences
• validate the fix with a test order so Google Ads registers one—and only one—conversion

Please be comfortable navigating both platforms’ admin panels, reading event tags in real time, and documenting what you change so I can keep everything tidy later on. If we can get clean, single-instance purchase tracking restored quickly, I’m ready to approve and move forward.
