Fix FooGallery Custom URL Links

I have a WordPress site running FooGallery and one particular gallery refuses to behave: every thumbnail is meant to link to a custom URL in a new tab, exactly the way my other galleries already do, yet the click event is ignored and the lightbox opens instead.

All gallery-level and image-level settings look identical to the working ones, so I suspect a hidden conflict—perhaps a theme override, JavaScript error, or a quirk in the latest FooGallery update. I need someone to trace the root cause and deliver a clean, permanent fix so:
• each image in that gallery (and any future ones I create the same way) launches its assigned custom URL in a new browser tab;
• no existing styling or functionality on the rest of the site is broken;
• you let me know what you changed so I can reproduce the solution later.

You’ll be working directly in WordPress with the FooGallery plugin; familiarity with its link override options, WordPress hooks, and front-end debugging tools (Chrome DevTools, console, etc.) will be essential. If additional CSS, PHP, or JavaScript tweaks are required, keep them lightweight and update-safe.

Once the gallery opens external links smoothly in a new tab, we’re done.
