Title: 3D FEA of Removable Partial Dentures – Two-Arch Dental Model with Occlusal Contact (Research Publication)
I am a prosthodontics postgraduate planning a research paper for a peer-reviewed dental journal. I am looking for an experienced FEA engineer for a biomechanical study of removable partial dentures (RPDs).
AT THIS STAGE I AM COLLECTING QUOTES AND EXAMPLES ONLY. Work is expected to start in about 4–6 weeks, after my study design is finalised.
WHAT I WILL PROVIDE
- Intraoral scan STL files (maxilla, mandible, bite registration)
- Edited models (teeth digitally removed, ridges sculpted)
- CAD designs of the RPD frameworks, denture bases and teeth
- Material properties and load values, with literature references
SCOPE OF WORK
- Build internal anatomy: tooth roots, PDL (~0.25 mm), cortical and cancellous bone, mucosa layer (~2 mm)
- Two-arch model with occlusal contact between maxilla and mandible
- Frictional contacts (framework–tooth, denture base–mucosa, occlusal contacts)
- Meshing with a mesh convergence check
- About 7–10 static analyses: 3 edentulous configurations, 2–3 framework designs, simulated denture-base settling, and mucosa stiffness sensitivity runs
- Vertical and oblique loading
DELIVERABLES
- Von Mises stress maps with identical colour scales across all runs
- Displacement results (denture bases and abutment teeth)
- Occlusal contact force/pressure per tooth
- Numerical result tables (peak and mean values per region)
- Methods report: software and version, element type, nodes/elements, convergence result, boundary conditions, contact settings
- Final model and result files
- Permission to publish the results; one round of revisions if reviewers request it
REQUIREMENTS
- ANSYS, Abaqus or FEBio
- Prior dental or biomechanical FEA experience (please share examples or published work)
- Experience with nonlinear contact analysis
PLEASE INCLUDE IN YOUR BID
1. Your price for the full scope
2. Expected timeline
3. One or two examples of similar dental/biomechanical FEA work
4. Software you will use
