I’d like a playful, fantasy-driven picture book script tailored for readers aged 7–9. The story should be fast-moving yet rich in imagery, giving a future illustrator plenty of visually exciting moments without overwhelming young readers with text blocks.

Here’s how I picture the workflow:

• Story text of roughly 1,200–1,500 words, broken into clear page turns.
• A short line of art direction beneath each page’s text so the illustrator can grasp the scene’s mood, colours, and key action.
• A one-paragraph synopsis and two-sentence back-cover blurb that hook parents, teachers, and young readers alike.

Tone: whimsical but not babyish, with relatable characters who discover wonder in an otherwise ordinary world. The fantasy element can lean toward gentle magic—think secret doors, talking animals, or enchanted objects—rather than epic battles.

Acceptance criteria: when I read the manuscript aloud, every page should invite an illustration opportunity, and the vocabulary must sit comfortably within the 7–9 age band.

I’m happy to answer theme questions, brainstorm twists, or clarify pacing along the way; drafts and quick feedback cycles keep everything on track. Let’s craft a story that sparks imaginations from the very first page turn.
