Project Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Comic Book Lead / Creative Director to guide our upcoming comic book project from concept to publication. You will act as the primary visual director and creative coordinator, working closely with the writer and artistic team (line artists, colorists, letterers) to shape the overall visual identity, narrative pacing, and artistic quality of the book.
Key Responsibilities:
Storyboarding & Pacing: Translate script outlines into compelling panel layouts, visual flow, and dynamic camera angles.
Artistic & Lighting Direction: Define the overall visual style, color palette, lighting design, and atmospheric tone for each scene.
Team Guidance: Oversee line artists, colorists, and letterers, providing feedback and redlines to ensure consistency across all pages.
Writer Collaboration: Work directly with the writer to refine script pacing and ensure visual readability and storytelling flow.
Character & World Consistency: Establish character model sheets, environment guides, and visual assets to maintain strict visual coherence.
Applicant Requirements:
Proven experience in the comic book industry (indie or mainstream publication experience preferred).
A solid portfolio demonstrating mastery of paneling, sequential storytelling, dynamic angles, lighting, and visual composition.
Strong communication and leadership skills to guide and direct an artistic team.
