Façade / Curtain Wall Engineer - Interchangeable Modular Exterior Panels
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
STEEL ONE is developing standardized building modules intended to accept replaceable exterior finishes such as glazing, perforated aluminum, solid metal, porcelain, stone and other architectural panels.
SCOPE OF WORK
• Evaluate universal façade attachment/interface concepts with realistic movement tolerances.
• Develop preliminary details for perimeter glazing support, safety glazing, anchors, panel joints and panel replacement.
• Identify wind load, deflection, thermal movement, water management and differential movement
constraints.
• Assess distinct attachment needs of perforated metal, solid metal, porcelain and stone.
• Define cladding-specific engineering verification and testing requirements.
EXPECTED DELIVERABLES
• Concept façade interface details (plans, sections and elevations).
• Finish-by-finish attachment feasibility matrix.
• Preliminary performance criteria and specialist testing list.
• Design risks and recommendations for a common modular attachment standard.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• Curtain-wall / structural glazing and rainscreen façade engineering experience.
• Knowledge of relevant ASTM / AAMA / applicable code test methods.
• Work on tall glazing, anchors and architectural metal cladding.
• Ability to coordinate structural and building-envelope requirements.
HOW TO APPLY
Share façade project examples and explain how you would distinguish universal interfaces from
cladding-specific requirements.
PROJECT TERMS
Remote collaboration; initial scope is a milestone-based paid engineering study. Specify your fee and timeline.
All output should be clearly labeled by revision. Confidentiality and intellectual-property assignment terms will be agreed before detailed technical disclosure.
