About us
ThePaper.in is a new publishing network for independent writers, journalists, researchers and creators. Writers publish stories, build a professional profile that works like a live portfolio, and get discovered by publishers who post paid assignments. We've just launched and want honest feedback from real writers before we grow.
What we need
We're looking for writers to explore ThePaper.in in whatever way feels natural to you and tell us about the experience. There's no fixed script: use it as you would if you'd found it on your own.
If you'd like ideas, you could:
sign up and create your contributor profile
write and publish a story (your own original work)
browse stories, writers and categories
try it on your phone as well as a computer
Deliverables
A short feedback report (a document, or a message here is fine) covering:
What you tried: the parts of the site you used.
What worked well: what you liked or found easy.
What was confusing or frustrating: where you got stuck or weren't sure what to do.
Bugs or errors: what happened, on which page, and on which device and browser. Screenshots help a lot.
Your overall impression: would you use it again, or recommend it to other writers? Why or why not?
Honest, specific feedback is far more useful to us than praise. If something annoyed you, please say so.
Who we're looking for
Based in India (most of our contributors will be). Writers from elsewhere are welcome, but India-based applicants are preferred.
Writers, journalists, bloggers, content writers or researchers. You don't need to be a professional; we want a mix of experience levels.
Comfortable writing in English.
Good attention to detail and clear written communication.
Bonus: you've used other writing or portfolio platforms (Medium, Substack, LinkedIn articles, WordPress) and can compare.
How we like to work
Flexible and remote: explore at your own pace, at any time of day.
Timeline: please complete it within [2 days] of starting.
Time needed: roughly [1–2 hours], though you're welcome to spend longer if you're enjoying it.
Communication: message us here with any questions, and we'll reply within a day.
Good to know
Please use your own email address to sign up, and only publish work you wrote yourself. Every story goes through a quick review before it goes live.
If you publish an approved story, you may also qualify for our Founding 100 launch reward, as described on the site.
