# Open-Source LMS Expert Required — Production-Ready Multi-Tenant LMS

## Project Overview

We are building a **white-label LMS platform for multiple trading academies**. The platform will allow different academy businesses to operate their own branded learning environments from a common technology platform.

We are looking for a **senior LMS engineer / architect who has already built and successfully launched an LMS in production using an open-source LMS codebase**.

This is NOT a project for someone who has only created courses in Moodle or performed basic LMS configuration.

## Mandatory Experience

You must have personally worked on at least **one real LMS project that was successfully launched end-to-end in production**, preferably using an open-source platform such as:

* Moodle
* Open edX
* LearnHouse
* Canvas LMS
* Another credible open-source LMS

Your experience must include substantial **development/customization + deployment**, not just administration.

### You should be able to demonstrate:

1. The open-source LMS you worked with
2. What you customized or developed
3. Your specific role in the project
4. Production URL/app, if publicly accessible
5. Approximate number of users/students
6. Hosting/cloud infrastructure used
7. How the LMS was deployed and maintained
8. Authentication/user/role architecture
9. Video/content delivery architecture
10. Payment/subscription implementation, if applicable
11. Any multi-tenant/white-label implementation
12. Examples of production issues you solved

## Our Requirements

We need to evaluate and potentially build a platform with:

* Multi-tenant architecture
* Multiple academies/customers
* Academy-specific branding
* Custom domains/subdomains
* Academy administrators
* Instructors/mentors
* Students
* Course and module management
* Video lessons
* PDFs/documents
* Quizzes and assessments
* Student progress tracking
* Certificates
* Paid courses
* Subscription/payment integration
* Live classes/webinars, recordings mgmt
* Notifications
* Admin dashboards
* Reporting/analytics
* API integrations
* Scalable cloud deployment
* Secure authentication and authorization

The initial platform will target **trading academies**, so future requirements may include TradingView/chart integrations, trading assignments, market-related learning tools, mentor interactions and trading journals.

## Your Responsibilities

The selected freelancer/team will initially:

### Phase 1 — Technical Evaluation

Evaluate suitable open-source LMS platforms and recommend the best foundation for our requirements.

Compare options such as Moodle, Open edX, LearnHouse and other relevant projects based on:

* Architecture
* Licensing
* Multi-tenancy
* Customization capability
* Scalability
* Development effort
* Production readiness
* Long-term maintainability

### Phase 2 — Architecture

Prepare the proposed production architecture covering:

* Frontend
* Backend
* Database
* Authentication
* Storage
* Video delivery
* CDN
* Payments
* Email/notifications
* Multi-tenancy
* Monitoring/logging
* Backup/recovery
* CI/CD
* Cloud deployment

### Phase 3 — Proof of Concept

Take the recommended open-source LMS and demonstrate:

* Branding customization
* Tenant/academy setup
* Admin/instructor/student roles
* Course creation
* Video lesson
* Student enrollment
* Progress tracking
* Quiz/assessment
* Certificate
* Basic payment flow where supported

### Phase 4 — Productionization

Convert the selected foundation into a **production-ready platform**, including:

* Secure configuration
* Database setup
* Cloud deployment
* Domain/SSL configuration
* Storage/CDN
* Backup strategy
* Monitoring
* Error logging
* CI/CD
* Performance optimization
* Security hardening
* Documentation

### Phase 5 — Launch

Successfully deploy the platform to production and support the initial customer/academy onboarding.

## Critical Requirement — PROOF OF PAST WORK

Please do NOT send a generic proposal describing your LMS skills.

Your proposal MUST include:

**LMS Project #1**

* Project/platform:
* Open-source foundation:
* Production URL:
* Your role:
* What you personally developed:
* Number of users/students:
* Hosting/cloud:
* Key customizations:
* How long it has been in production:

**LMS Project #2** (if applicable)

* Project/platform:
* Open-source foundation:
* Production URL:
* Your role:
* What you personally developed:
* Number of users/students:
* Hosting/cloud:
* Key customizations:

Screenshots, GitHub repositories, architecture diagrams or other evidence are strongly preferred.

## Important

We are specifically looking for someone who has **taken an open-source LMS beyond installation/configuration and successfully turned it into a production product**.

Experience such as:
> "I have installed Moodle and configured courses" is NOT sufficient.

We are looking for experience closer to:

> "I took an open-source LMS, modified its code, built custom functionality, integrated external services, deployed it on cloud infrastructure, launched it for real users, and maintained the production system."

## Preferred Technical Experience

Strong preference for candidates experienced with:
* Moodle / Open edX / LearnHouse / suitable opensource LMS
* Python / Django / FastAPI
* PHP
* React / Next.js
* PostgreSQL
* Redis
* Docker
* AWS / GCP / Azure
* Cloudflare/CDN
* CI/CD
* REST APIs
* Stripe/Razorpay or payment gateways
* Video hosting/streaming
* S3-compatible storage
* Multi-tenant SaaS architecture

## Engagement

We expect to start with a technical evaluation / architecture + POC phase.
Successful completion can lead to the full LMS development and production launch project.
We are open to an individual senior freelancer or a small specialist team.

## How to Apply
Start your proposal with:
**"PRODUCTION LMS — [Name of LMS you launched]"**

Then answer these three questions:
1. **What is the best LMS you have personally taken from open-source code to production?**
2. **What did you personally build/customize that was not available out of the box?**
3. **Give us one production URL or other verifiable evidence of the project.**

Generic LMS proposals without verifiable past production experience will not be considered.
