About the Project
We are seeking an experienced Database Architect & Big Data Specialist to assist in
constructing a robust database infrastructure and sourcing/procuring high-quality big data
assets for our platform.
If you have a strong background in data engineering, database design, and hands-on
experience evaluating and procuring third-party data feeds/datasets, we would love to
collaborate with you.
Key Responsibilities
Database Design & Construction: Design, build, and optimize scalable relational/non
relational database architectures tailored to our operational needs.
Big Data Procurement & Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and acquire relevant
external datasets and third-party data providers.
ETL & Data Pipeline Setup: Establish efficient ETL pipelines, data ingestion flows, and
automated validation scripts to integrate procured datasets.
Data Quality & Compliance: Implement data governance, cleaning processes, and
ensure compliance with relevant data privacy/licensing laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Technical Documentation & Advisory: Provide recommendations on technology
stacks, licensing terms, vendor selection, and system maintenance.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data
Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
Database Architecture Expertise: Proven track record with databases such as
PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
Big Data Sourcing Experience: Demonstrated experience in evaluating, procuring, and
integrating external commercial or public datasets.
Data Engineering Skills: Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, ETL tools, and data
pipeline frameworks.
Vendor & Contract Awareness: Basic understanding of data licensing agreements, API
integrations, and data procurement best practices.
Communication: Strong command of English with clear technical communication
skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Industry-specific domain knowledge in [e.g., Finance / E-commerce / AI Training Data /
Healthcare].
