Senior Transmission Planning Engineer Required
We are looking for an experienced Senior Transmission Planning Engineer to join our team on a remote consulting/project basis.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in power system studies, transmission planning, load flow analysis, contingency analysis, and transmission interconnection projects.
Key Responsibilities
Perform transmission planning and power system studies.
Conduct load flow and contingency analysis to identify thermal and voltage constraints.
Analyze transfer capability and transmission system limitations.
Develop and maintain power system models.
Work with transmission planning software such as PSS/E, PSLF, or TARA.
Perform stability analysis when required.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
Support project planning, technical documentation, scope development, and project estimation.
Communicate technical findings clearly to clients and project stakeholders.
Required Experience
7+ years of relevant experience preferred for the Senior-level position.
Strong background in transmission planning and power system analysis.
Experience with PSS/E, PSLF, or TARA.
Strong understanding of load flow and contingency analysis.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience with any of the following will be an advantage:
Stability analysis
PSCAD / EMT analysis
Short-circuit analysis using CAPE or ASPEN
PJM, MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, SPP, CAISO, WECC, SERC, or ISO-NE
Python, JavaScript, or other scripting/automation languages
Transmission interconnection studies

We need an engineer who can take ownership of transmission planning assignments, perform technical analysis, prepare reports, and work directly with our team on ongoing projects.
