## Project Overview

We are developing a hosted SaaS platform that allows organizations to integrate AI-powered website search engines and conversational chatbots into their existing websites.

We are looking for an experienced Laravel and Drupal developer, or a development agency, to build the Drupal connector, SaaS dashboard, visitor-facing search interface and chatbot UI.

This is part of a larger project. The AI intelligence, RAG, search intelligence and AI provider APIs will be developed separately by an AI engineering team.

Your responsibility is to build the Drupal integration and all required Laravel-based interfaces.

## 1. Drupal Module Development

Develop a Drupal 10/11-compatible module that connects websites to our hosted SaaS platform.

Required functionality:

- Easy installation and configuration.
- Secure SaaS connection.
- Automatic discovery of Drupal content types.
- Administration screen to include/exclude individual content types.
- Ability to exclude individual content items where practical.
- Configurable field selection and mapping.
- Taxonomy, tags and categories export.
- English and French content support.
- Public and authenticated content support.
- Permission metadata export.
- Full and incremental synchronization.
- Automatic updates when content changes.
- Deleted/unpublished content synchronization.
- Synchronization logs and error reporting.
- Manual synchronization controls.

**Important:** Drupal administrators must have a clear interface to choose exactly which content types are included in the SaaS search index.

## 2. Laravel SaaS Dashboard

Develop a complete customer dashboard using Laravel Blade and Tailwind CSS.

Features:

- Organization dashboard.
- Multiple website management.
- Website connection status.
- Content indexing status.
- Synchronization information.
- AI usage dashboard.
- Daily and monthly allowance tracking.
- Remaining AI allowance.
- Current subscription tier.
- Subscription upgrade interface.
- BYOK status display.
- Basic analytics.
- Account and configuration management.

Organizations must be able to view their usage and upgrade their subscription when required.

The platform will have Free, Standard and Premium tiers. Pricing will be individually quoted rather than displayed publicly.

## 3. Website Search Interface

Develop an embeddable website search interface.

Features:

- Search box.
- Search suggestions.
- Search results.
- Dynamic filters.
- Categories and tags.
- Content type filters.
- Sorting and pagination.
- Search highlighting.
- Responsive design.
- AI and basic search modes.

Filters must be generated dynamically from backend metadata rather than hardcoded.

## 4. Chatbot UI – Mandatory

Develop a complete, modern, embeddable chatbot interface.

Features:

- Floating chatbot button.
- Expandable chat window.
- Welcome message.
- Conversation interface.
- Message input.
- AI response display.
- Follow-up questions.
- Conversation history.
- Source citations and clickable links.
- Loading indicators.
- Error handling.
- Mobile-responsive design.
- Customizable logo, colours and welcome message.

The chatbot must integrate with APIs supplied by our AI engineering contractor.

**Basic fallback mode is mandatory:** When the organization's AI allowance is exhausted, the chatbot must automatically switch to conventional keyword search and continue displaying relevant website pages without AI-generated answers.

## 5. Basic Analytics

Build an analytics dashboard showing:

- Total searches.
- Total chatbot conversations.
- Popular search keywords.
- Searches with no results.
- Popular clicked links.
- Search activity over time.
- AI versus basic search usage.
- English versus French usage.
- Filter usage.

Premium analytics may be expanded separately.

## 6. Website Integration

The chatbot and search interface must be easily embeddable into:

- Drupal websites.
- WordPress websites.
- Custom PHP websites.
- Laravel websites.
- General HTML websites.

Provide copy-and-paste JavaScript installation snippets and integration documentation.

## 7. Mandatory Technology Requirements

**The platform must be developed using Laravel, PHP, Blade templates and Tailwind CSS.**

React, Vue.js, Angular, Next.js and similar frontend application frameworks are NOT permitted.

No separate frontend application or unnecessary Node.js application.

Use Laravel Blade for rendering and lightweight vanilla JavaScript for interactive functionality.

The chatbot and search widgets must be lightweight, embeddable JavaScript components communicating with Laravel APIs.

## 8. English, French and Accessibility

English and French support is mandatory throughout the platform.

The application must target:

- WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
- Applicable AODA accessibility requirements.
- Full keyboard navigation.
- Screen-reader compatibility.
- Accessible chatbot interactions.
- Accessible search and filters.
- Proper focus management.
- Appropriate colour contrast.

Accessibility must be part of the implementation, not an afterthought.

## 9. Preferred Developer Experience

We are looking for developers with demonstrable experience in:

- Laravel and PHP.
- Blade and Tailwind CSS.
- Drupal 10/11 module development.
- Drupal Entity API.
- Drupal content and taxonomy systems.
- Drupal permissions and access control.
- REST API integration.
- Multi-tenant SaaS applications.
- Embeddable JavaScript widgets.

## 11. Project Expectations

This is a commercial SaaS product intended for production use and future expansion.

All custom source code, documentation and deliverables will belong to the client under a signed IP assignment.

Development will use client-owned repositories and milestone-based acceptance.
