Electrical Engineer – Power System Studies
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer / Power System Studies Engineer with strong expertise in power system analysis, dynamic studies, and transient studies. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with industry-standard simulation tools and be capable of performing detailed studies for power system planning, grid integration, and system performance assessment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform power system studies and analysis for transmission, distribution, renewable energy, and generation projects.
Conduct Dynamic Stability Studies, including small-signal and transient stability analysis.
Perform Transient Studies and electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulations.
Develop and validate power system models for various generation and network configurations.
Carry out fault analysis, load flow, voltage stability, frequency stability, and system performance studies.
Analyze system behavior during disturbances, faults, switching events, and grid contingencies.
Prepare technical reports, study results, simulation plots, and recommendations.
Troubleshoot and validate simulation models against project requirements and applicable grid codes/standards.
Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues related to power system performance and grid integration.
Required Technical Skills
Candidates should have hands-on experience with one or more of the following tools:
PSCAD / EMTDC – Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) simulations
PSS®E (PSSE) – Power system modeling and steady-state/dynamic studies
Experience with dynamic and transient stability studies
Power system Load Flow / Power Flow Studies
Short Circuit / Fault Studies
Voltage Stability Studies
Frequency and Dynamic Stability Studies
Grid Integration Studies
Experience in developing, modifying, and validating simulation models
Preferred Experience
Experience with renewable energy integration, such as solar PV, wind, BESS, or hybrid power plants.
Experience with transmission system studies and utility/grid interconnection studies.
Familiarity with IEEE/IEC standards and applicable grid codes.
Experience analyzing simulation results and preparing professional technical reports.
Knowledge of generator, inverter-based resource, transformer, transmission line, protection, and control system models.
Programming/scripting experience in Python, MATLAB, or PSS®E automation would be an advantage.
Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Systems / related field.
Strong understanding of electrical power systems and stability concepts.
Practical experience in PSCAD, EMT, and PSS®E.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to independently execute power system studies and clearly communicate technical findings.
