Position Overview
RecruitGo is seeking an Experienced Australian Bookkeeper to manage end-to-end bookkeeping for Australian clients using Xero, including reconciliations, payroll, invoicing, and reporting, with strong attention to detail and cloud accounting experience.
Responsibilities
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Bookkeeper to join our Australian accounting practice. This role is suited to someone with solid bookkeeping experience who is confident managing day-to-day bookkeeping and compliance requirements for a diverse portfolio of Australian businesses. You will work closely with accountants, senior bookkeepers and clients to maintain accurate financial records, prepare regular compliance work and ensure client accounts are kept up to date.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage daily bookkeeping tasks for a portfolio of clients across a range of industries in Xero cloud
accounting system
• Process and reconcile bank and credit card transactions
• Sending client expense invoices to Dext for electronic processing
• Processing invoices from Dext into Xero
• Preparation of aged payables and batch payment (creditors report), including provision of bank ABA file
• Raising client sales invoices as instructed
• Preparation and processing of wages, including maintenance of employee records
• Preparation and processing of employer superannuation obligations (payday super)
• Processing of payroll data electronically to the ATO under Single Touch Payroll requirements
• Client debtor management, through the provision of automatic reminders and statements
• Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
• Complete GST reconciliations and assist with PAYG withholding requirements.
• Maintain general ledgers and investigate discrepancies.
• Preparation of manual journals in Xero
• Preparation of weekly reports as instructed
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including the provision of month-end journals
• Preparation of financial reports from Xero particularly management report
• Prepare bookkeeping files and supporting schedules for accountants and year-end financial statement preparation.
• Assist clients with bookkeeping queries and provide practical support with accounting software.
• Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
• Liaise with clients to obtain missing information and resolve bookkeeping queries.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Assist with other bookkeeping and administrative duties as required.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is organised, dependable and takes ownership of their work. You should be comfortable working independently while also contributing positively to a collaborative bookkeeping team. The right person will have a client-focused approach, strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve bookkeeping issues rather than simply process transactions.
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
•1-2 relevant years’ experience, preferably within an Australian accounting or bookkeeping practice.
• Strong knowledge of Australian bookkeeping, GST, BAS, payroll and superannuation requirements.
• Experience using Xero is essential.
• Familiarity with business and accounting applications such as Dext, Deputy, Lightspeed, Square and similar platforms would be an advantage.
• Strong bank, payroll, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliation skills.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping processes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines and competing priorities.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
Qualifications
• Good written and verbal communication skills and confidence communicating directly with clients.
• Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, Diploma of Accounting, accounting degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Xero certification will be highly regarded.

Salary Range:PHP 30,000 to PHP 50,000 (depending on experience)

Work Setup:Work-from-home in the Philippines

Work Schedule:40 hrs per week, 8 hours per day from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM South Australian Time with 1 hour break (work hours will adjust for daylight savings time)
