Our operations data currently lives in several Excel workbooks but needs to reside in a central SQL Server table so it can feed downstream reports. The task is to build a reliable, repeatable process that will import, update, and keep both sides in sync.

Scope of work
• Connect one master workbook (multiple sheets) to the target SQL Server database.
• Map each column, handle data-type conversions, and preserve primary keys or unique identifiers so updates do not create duplicates.
• Automate the transfer—Power Query, VBA, SSIS, or another stable method is fine as long as it can run on a Windows 11 machine with Office 365 and SQL Server 2019.
• Include clear comments in the code and a short hand-off document so my in-house analyst can rerun or modify the routine later.

Acceptance criteria
1. A single command (button, macro, or scheduled job) pushes the latest Excel data to SQL Server and pulls any edits back to Excel without manual copy-pasting.
2. All NULLs, dates, and numeric formats remain intact after transfer.
3. Error handling logs any failed rows with a brief reason.

If you prefer to surface the synced data in an Excel dashboard—or even Power BI—that’s a welcome bonus, but first priority is the import/update mechanism itself.
