Excel Data Cleaning for Reporting

I have between two and five Excel workbooks that must be publication-ready for our upcoming reports. Before I can plug them into the dashboards, each sheet needs a precise clean-up:

• Remove every duplicate entry while keeping the first accurate record.
• Detect, fill, or clearly flag missing values so no blank cells slip into the final figures.
• Standardise formatting—dates, currency, percentages, text casing, column names, and number precision—so each file follows the same structure.

I’ll provide the original files plus a short data dictionary. Please return:

1. A cleaned version of every workbook, keeping original file names with “_clean” appended.
2. A concise change log (Excel sheet or CSV) that notes what was removed, filled, or reformatted so the audit trail is clear.

Accuracy is critical because these numbers go straight into the executive report pack, so your final files need to be error-free and ready for pivot tables and charts.

If you regularly use Power Query, VBA macros, or other automated methods to accelerate data cleansing, feel free—speed is welcome as long as the results match the acceptance criteria above.
