I need an Excel workbook that keeps all of my customer contact information organised, easy to update, and error-free. I will be entering every record manually, so the sheet has to streamline typing—clearly labelled columns, sensible tab order, and data-validation rules that prevent bad phone numbers or incomplete addresses.
Core requirements
• One master table for contacts with ready-to-type fields (name, address, phone, email, plus space for notes).
• Built-in drop-downs or conditional formatting to flag missing / invalid values so I catch mistakes on the spot.
• Simple filters or a slicer so I can quickly pull up subsets of customers.
• Protection for formulas and header rows, leaving only the entry cells unlocked.
Nice-to-haves
Although my current focus is manual data entry, I’m happy if you leave hooks—extra tabs or a macro button—for future imports from CSV or a light CRM.
Deliverable
A finished .xlsx file, plug-and-play on Microsoft Excel (desktop, Windows), with any supporting VBA clearly commented if you choose to use it.
Once I can open the workbook, drop in a few test contacts, and watch the validation catch errors, I’ll consider the job complete.
