I need a turnkey IoT controller built around ESP32 (ESP8266 acceptable if you justify it) that will sit inside our rental RO water purifiers and switch a 12 V / 24 V DC pump on or off. Core logic is: the cloud decides, but the board must also pay attention to a local water-level or pressure safety input so we never run the pump dry. The exact signal standard from that sensor is still open—could be a simple switch or a 0-5 V / 0-10 V analogue line—so design with a little headroom.
Connectivity and cloud:
• Secure Wi-Fi with heartbeat, online/offline status and OTA firmware updates
• MQTT plus a small REST endpoint, integrating to our existing Supabase back end for subscription control (activate, deactivate, pause)
• If Wi-Fi drops, the controller keeps following the last valid command while still honouring local safety signals.
I expect you to deliver the whole package:
1. Schematic, BOM and production-ready PCB (Altium/KiCad preferred)
2. Embedded firmware with OTA, MQTT, REST, Supabase hooks and field-upgradable configuration
3. Compact enclosure design ready for injection moulding or 3-D print during prototyping
4. Five to ten fully assembled, tested prototypes for pilot rollout, followed by guidance to scale past a thousand units at ₹250-₹400 each
When you respond, include:
• Links or brief notes on comparable IoT hardware you have shipped
• Estimated prototype cost, target production cost at 1 k+ units, and realistic timeline to first article
• Confirmation you can ship complete, assembled prototypes (controller + enclosure) to India
I’ll be available for quick technical clarifications and can supply CAD of the purifier housing plus API keys for Supabase. Looking forward to working with someone who has taken Wi-Fi controllers from bench top to factory line before.
