I’m commissioning a high-quality, publication-ready map to underpin my current academic work in environmental studies. The piece must do more than plot coordinates; it needs to communicate complex ecological patterns with visual clarity and artistic polish.

Scope
• Base data preparation and GIS production (ArcGIS/QGIS or comparable)
• Detailed cartographic styling that highlights water bodies, vegetation mosaics and topographic variation with equal prominence
• Consistent symbology, color hierarchy and labeling suitable for journal submission
• Final delivery in layered, editable formats (AI/SVG) plus high-resolution TIFF/PNG for print

What I value
– Scientific accuracy that survives peer review
– Clean, modern aesthetics rather than default GIS looks
– Openness to iterative feedback so legend, scale and annotations align perfectly with my manuscript figures

Acceptance criteria
1. Spatial data integrity verified against supplied shapefiles.
2. All three feature classes—water, vegetation, topography—clearly distinguishable at both A4 and A0 scales.
3. File package includes editable source, print-ready export and a concise style guide for future figures.

If you’re comfortable blending GIS precision with creative cartography, I’d like to hear how you’d approach this collaboration and see samples that demonstrate similar environmental research work.
