Engaging Children’s Book Illustrations

I’m preparing a children’s story for publication and now need a skilled illustrator to bring the characters and settings to life. The exact visual direction is still open—bright cartoon energy, gentle watercolor charm, or clean digital boldness could all work—so I’m keen to see what style you feel would best capture a young reader’s imagination. Likewise, I’m flexible on layout; we can decide together whether full-page scenes, spot art, or a blend of both will serve the pacing of the story.

Here’s what I’ll need from you:

• Initial concept sketches for the main characters and a sample spread
• A round of revisions to lock the look and feel
• Final, print-ready illustrations supplied in high-resolution CMYK (plus RGB files for e-book use)
• Layered source files in your native program (Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, etc.)

Strong communication and reliable turnaround times are important to me. If you have previous children’s book work, please share a few examples so I can see how you handle storytelling through pictures. Let’s collaborate to create artwork that sparks joy and curiosity on every page.
