I need an engineer who can design, implement, and validate a BLDC motor–control solution that maximises energy efficiency in a residential air-conditioning unit. The end result should let the compressor fan ramp up and down smoothly, draw the minimum possible power across typical duty cycles, and integrate without fuss into the existing appliance electronics.

Scope of work
• Develop or adapt a control algorithm (sensorless or sensored—whichever meets the efficiency target) that delivers stable torque at low RPM and high efficiency at peak load.
• Select the appropriate MCU or gate-driver IC and size peripheral components so the complete design fits inside the current controller footprint of a split-type indoor unit.
• Provide firmware, annotated source code, and build instructions; C, C++, or embedded C on ARM, TI C2000, or similar platforms are all acceptable.
• Supply a schematic and PCB layout (Altium, KiCad, or equivalent) incorporating protection features, soft-start, and EMI compliance.
• Bench-test the prototype and document efficiency metrics, thermal behaviour, and acoustic noise against a baseline fixed-speed fan.

Acceptance criteria
1. Measured power savings of at least 15 % compared with the stock controller at three RPM set-points.
2. Stable start-up in under 0.5 s with no audible cogging.
3. Complete hand-over package: source, Gerbers, BOM, test report, and a brief user manual for the OEM firmware loader.

If you’ve already tackled inverter-grade BLDCs for HVAC or similar appliances, please mention the chipset and efficiency gains you achieved.
