I’m developing an innovative product whose core job is to let an embedded device communicate smoothly with other systems over a wired industrial bus, Ethernet, and CAN. To move from concept to working prototype, I need a freelancer who can guide the full cycle:
• Draft clear technical specifications / terms of reference from my high-level requirements.
• Design the overall embedded-plus-PC architecture that satisfies those specs.
• Implement firmware in C/C++ (and, where it makes sense, Python) on a microcontroller development board.
• Build a companion Windows application—also in C/C++ or Python—that lets users configure and control the device.
• Ensure rock-solid communication over the chosen buses and networks, handling framing, error management, and diagnostics.
You’ll be hands-on with:
– Embedded microcontrollers (bring your own toolchain familiarity).
– Wired industrial bus protocols, Ethernet networking, and CAN integration.
– Windows desktop UI and device-control workflows.
Fluent English, collaborative mindset, and a knack for innovative real-time systems are essential. If you hold (or are finishing) a Master’s and get energized by seeing your code run on real hardware, I’d love to hear how you would tackle the spec, design, and development phases.
