I need an experienced web designer to build a modern, high-brow site that presents my dual professional life—published author and practising psychoanalyst—with equal weight and sophistication.
Purpose & feel
The site should effortlessly showcase my books, essays, and general thinking while inviting prospective analysands to explore my psychoanalytic approach and get in touch. Visually I’m after an elegant yet contemporary mood: clean lines, refined typography, generous whitespace, and subtle interactions that suggest confidence without feeling flashy.
Core pages
• About the Author – a narrative-driven bio with portrait photography
• Psychoanalytic Approach – an engaging explanation of my method, credentials, and a clear call-to-action for consultations
• Publications – grid or shelf layout for books and selected papers, each with detail modals or pages
Functional requirements
– Responsive design that reads flawlessly on mobile, tablet, and desktop
– Easy-to-update CMS (WordPress, Webflow, or similar) so I can post new work without touching code
– SEO-ready structure and metadata
– Contact form routed to my practice email and optional newsletter signup
– GDPR-compliant cookie notice
Process & deliverables
1. Low-fidelity wireframes for layout approval
2. High-fidelity mock-ups reflecting agreed typography, colour palette, and micro-interactions
3. Fully built, tested, and deployed site with a brief style guide for future content updates
4. One round of post-launch tweaks (minor text or image swaps)
Acceptance criteria
• Page speed scores above 85 on Google Lighthouse
• No visual glitches across Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and mobile browsers
• CMS tutorial (video or live call) giving me confidence to add new publications myself
If this balance of elegance and intellectual edge excites you, please share relevant portfolio links and outline your preferred stack and timeline.
