Experienced Multidisciplinary Engineering Team Required for an Electrochemical Flow Pilot Plant

Project Type: Chemical Process Engineering / Electrochemical Engineering / Pilot Plant Design

Project Stage: Concept Development and Complete Engineering Design

We are looking for an experienced engineering team or a qualified multidisciplinary engineering company to design a continuous-flow electrochemical pilot plant with a target production capacity of approximately 1 kg/hour.

This is a specialized chemical engineering project. It is NOT a software development, PCB design, general CAD drafting, or standalone mechanical design project.

1. Mandatory Expertise

The applicant must have direct, demonstrable experience in the following fields:

- Chemical/Process Engineering: Process design, mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, process calculations and pilot plant engineering.
- Electrochemical Engineering: Electrochemical flow cells, electrode and membrane selection, current and power calculations, electrolyte circulation and scale-up.
- Mechanical Engineering: Reactor and equipment design, mechanical sizing, piping, equipment layout, frame design and fabrication/assembly drawings.
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering: DC power systems, electrical design, instrumentation, control systems, sensors, alarms, interlocks and control cabinet specifications.

Applicants must demonstrate that these competencies are available within their own team or through named, qualified collaborators. A single generalist without the necessary specialist support will not be suitable.

2. Required Previous Experience and References

Applicants must provide:

1. Examples of previously completed electrochemical reactor, flow reactor, chemical process or pilot plant engineering projects.
2. A clear description of their role and specific engineering responsibilities in each project.
3. Relevant drawings, technical documents, anonymized case studies or other verifiable evidence of previous work.
4. Professional qualifications and relevant experience of the engineers who would actually work on this project.
5. Client references or other independently verifiable evidence of successful project delivery, where available.

Applicants without demonstrable, directly relevant experience and supporting evidence should not submit a proposal.

Please do not apply if your experience is limited to software development, PCB design, general CAD modeling, academic theory without relevant engineering practice, or unrelated mechanical design.

We want to avoid wasting either party's time.

3. Required Engineering Scope

The selected team must be capable of delivering a complete, coordinated engineering package covering:

A. Process and Electrochemical Engineering

- Review of the project requirements and available process data.
- Definition of the process design basis.
- Selection and justification of a suitable reactor and electrochemical cell configuration.
- Preliminary process calculations and mass and energy balances.
- Cell-stack sizing and configuration.
- Electrode, membrane and electrolyte selection.
- DC power supply sizing and electrical load calculations.
- Cooling requirements and heat-load calculations.
- Auxiliary equipment selection and sizing.

B. Equipment and Procurement Documentation

- Complete equipment and component list.
- Technical specifications for equipment, instruments and valves.
- Equipment budget and total investment estimate.
- PFD (Process Flow Diagram).
- Detailed P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram).
- Process calculations and line sizing.
- Instrument and valve lists.
- Piping materials list.
- Supplier research and suitable component sourcing options in Türkiye, including local distributors where available.
- Review of supplier quotations and technical documents against the design specifications.

C. Mechanical Engineering

- General arrangement and equipment layout.
- Reactor and equipment mechanical drawings.
- Frame and assembly drawings.
- Piping, connections and installation details.
- Fabrication and assembly documentation suitable for local construction.

D. Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Engineering

- Electrical system design.
- Single-line diagrams.
- DC power supply and control cabinet specifications.
- Instrumentation and sensor specifications.
- Control philosophy.
- Alarm and interlock lists.
- Applicable safety requirements and relevant protection measures.

E. Assembly, Testing and Commissioning Support

- Technical guidance during procurement and assembly.
- Remote support for piping and electrical wiring.
- Written testing and commissioning procedures.
- Remote troubleshooting during testing and initial operation.
- Review of test results and assistance with diagnosing design-related problems.
- Corrections to engineering documents where required within the agreed scope.
- Remote engineering support until the agreed commissioning and acceptance criteria have been evaluated.

The project will be assembled locally in Türkiye. The engineering package must therefore be practical, coordinated across all disciplines and suitable for local procurement and assembly.

4. Mandatory Proposal Requirements

Your proposal must include:

1. Your relevant project experience and verifiable references.
2. The names, qualifications and roles of the engineers assigned to the project.
3. Confirmation that all four required disciplines are covered.
4. Your proposed engineering approach and complete deliverables.
5. A realistic schedule with milestones.
6. A fixed-price quotation for the complete engineering scope.
7. The duration and limits of remote technical support.
8. A clear statement of exclusions, assumptions and any additional charges.
9. Your proposed payment milestones and acceptance criteria.

Incomplete proposals that do not address these requirements may not be considered.

5. Important Conditions

We are seeking a complete engineering solution, not isolated drawings or a preliminary concept only.

The selected contractor must take responsibility for coordinating the different engineering disciplines and delivering a consistent engineering package. Any specialist subcontractors or collaborators must be identified before the project is awarded.

All design decisions, operating assumptions, safety requirements and acceptance criteria must be documented and agreed before implementation.

Please apply only if you have the relevant technical team, proven project experience and the ability to deliver the complete scope described above.

We value verified competence, professional accountability and practical engineering experience over generic claims or low bids.
