I’m looking for an original short story that combines a playful fantasy setting with a clear educational takeaway suitable for young readers. The goal is to spark imagination while gently teaching a lesson I’ll share once we start.
Scope
• Length: roughly 800–1,200 words, paced for a single sitting or read-aloud session.
• Tone: light, adventurous, and age-appropriate for children 6–10.
• Genre: fantasy elements—magical creatures, whimsical worlds, or inventive powers—woven seamlessly into everyday situations so kids can relate.
• Moral: ends with an explicit yet natural message that guides readers toward the intended value (e.g., kindness, honesty, perseverance).
• Language: simple vocabulary, short sentences, plenty of dialogue and sensory detail to hold attention.
Deliverables
1. Polished manuscript in Word or Google Docs.
2. A brief 2–3-line author’s note summarizing the moral.
3. Optional: a one-paragraph hook that could double as a YouTube or social-media caption (nice to have, not mandatory).
What will help you succeed
• Experience writing for children or educational content.
• Ability to create vivid, imaginative settings without overcomplicating the narrative.
• Quick turnaround and openness to one set of minor edits after my review.
If this sounds like a story you’d enjoy bringing to life, I look forward to reading your proposal and sample work.
