I’m looking for assistance with research in a few specific newspaper archives at the KBR library in Brussels.
PLEASE NOTE: To perform this project you must be located in Brussels or nearby. Unfortunately, these newspapers have not been digitized and must be reviewed in person.

I will provide the specific newspapers to search, and I will arrange for them to be retrieved from storage for your review. I just need someone who is available to review the newspapers in Brussels and search for a few key words and concepts. The newspapers are from colonial Congo. They are in French. They cover approximately 10 years. I believe they are both weekly papers. The period of interest is in the 1940s and 50s.

I anticipate approximately 40 hours of work. You will need a functioning digital camera (on a modern phone is fine), in order to photograph items of interest and send them to me. Pay may include performance-based bonuses.

You will also need solid reading skills in French, and basic English for our communications. While you need to identify articles of interest that contain key words, you will not need to translate. I just need the articles sent to me digitally, and I will examine them and determine their use, if any.

I would strongly prefer a prompt turn-around time, preferably within the next month.

Please let me know if you are available and interested. Thank you!
