Our LAMP-based online store has outgrown its original build and now needs a focused full-stack upgrade. The codebase sits on PHP, MySQL, Apache and Linux, so experience tweaking performance and adding functionality in this environment is essential.
Here are the confirmed upgrade goals:
• User interface redesign
• Adding new features
• Improving site performance
Redesign
The current layout feels dated on mobile and tablet. I want a fresh, responsive UI that preserves the brand palette but introduces cleaner typography, modern component styling and an easier checkout flow. Figma or Adobe XD hand-offs are available if you prefer to work from design files.
New features
Priority items include a wishlist module, product-comparison, and an admin-side promo-code manager. Each feature should plug into our existing MySQL schema without breaking legacy data.
Performance
Page-load times must drop below two seconds on a 5 Mbps connection. I expect database query optimisation, code refactoring, asset minification and server-level caching (e.g., OPcache, Varnish or similar).
Deliverables
1. Updated source code in Git with clear commit history
2. Migration scripts for any schema changes
3. Documented setup notes for staging and production
4. A short video walkthrough highlighting key changes
Acceptance criteria
• Lighthouse performance score ≥ 90 on desktop and mobile
• All core Web Vitals in the green
• No PHP or JavaScript errors in browser console
• Checkout, wishlist and promo features fully functional in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge
Timeline and milestones are flexible, but I’d like the first UI prototype within two weeks of project start. Let’s discuss any questions you have about the current architecture or desired features before we kick off.
