Durable Washer Exterior Design

I’m developing a brand-new washing machine and need a product designer who can take full ownership of the exterior. Internal mechanics are already in capable hands; what I’m missing is a robust, well-engineered housing that can stand up to daily wear while still looking contemporary on the sales floor.

Your brief: translate my functional requirements into a production-ready outer shell that prioritises durability and premium material quality. I’m open to metal, high-impact polymers, or hybrid constructions as long as they meet long-life cycle testing and remain cost-efficient at scale. Attention to corrosion resistance, scratch resistance, and easy-clean surfaces is key. Ergonomics are welcome but secondary—visual cohesion and structural strength come first.

Deliverables I’ll need:
• Initial concept sketches with rationale
• 3D CAD files (STEP or SolidWorks native) ready for tooling
• A concise material specification sheet, including sourcing notes and suggested finishes
• Basic DFM guidance so my manufacturing partner can quote with confidence
