Dramatic Short Film Cinematic Editing

I’ve wrapped production on a short film and now need an editor who can turn the raw takes into a gripping, dramatic narrative. The tone throughout is serious—think deliberate pacing, moody visuals, and punch-y emotional beats.

Key techniques I want to see on screen are slow-motion flourishes to heighten pivotal moments, rich color grading that deepens shadows and sculpts light, and montage sequences for time jumps or inner-thought passages. If you work in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or a similar pro-grade suite, you’ll feel right at home with the footage.

I’ll supply:
• 4K ProRes files, location audio, and a reference script
• Music stems and SFX already licensed for use

What I need back:
• Locked picture in 4K (and a 1080p proxy)
• Final audio mix synced and leveled
• Color-graded master plus a clean, un-graded copy for future passes
• Project files neatly organized so another editor can pick up if needed
