Distraction Bag needs to move from concept to a working digital tool that helps busy professionals breathe, focus, and act. The first release is all about solid, no-frills task management: users create a task in seconds, group or prioritise it, then tick it off with a satisfying swipe or tap. Data must persist locally and sync to the cloud so the list is identical on desktop, tablet, and phone.
Core experience
• Lightning-fast “Add Task” flow (one-line entry, optional due date or tag)
• Clean, minimal interface that keeps the task list front and centre
• Real-time updates across devices via secure authentication and cloud datastore
• Sub-tasks or check-items inside any task for deeper breakdowns
• Sub-one-second launch time to reinforce the “do it now” ethos
Technical notes
React Native or Flutter is preferred for a single code-base covering iOS, Android, and web, but I’m open to suggestions if you can hit the same reach and speed. The back–end can be Firebase, Supabase, or a light Node/Express API with a relational store; whichever path you choose, make sure it scales without extra ops overhead.
Acceptance criteria
1. A compiled mobile app (APK + iOS TestFlight build) and a fully hosted web version behind HTTPS.
2. Source code pushed to a private Git repo with clear README instructions for local setup and build.
3. Demonstrable offline support and automatic sync once a connection is regained.
4. Basic unit tests for task-creation logic and an automated build workflow.
Future iterations may introduce a focus timer or distraction-blocking layer, so structure the project with modular components that can grow without refactoring the whole code-base.
Hand-off the builds, repo access, and a brief Loom walkthrough once everything passes the criteria above.
