The Director, Benefits Technology leads the technology team and works alongside the Employee Benefits business segment by overseeing benefit eligibility management systems offered to clients. The Director, Benefits Technology is responsible for the tactical and operational leadership of team projects, manages benefit carrier sites, supports colleagues in undertaking new opportunities and developing their careers, and promotes and maintains strong colleague and client relationships.Principal Responsibilities:
Lead EBG Technology Team and activities
Develop and drive EBG Technology annual goals and objectives
Keeps colleagues up-to-date on decisions, changes, and other relevant information, and articulates reason behind the decisions
Creates an environment for open feedback through effective communication and regular meetings to address concerns regarding new requirements
Evaluates colleague performance by providing objective and timely feedback on an ongoing informal basis; conducts annual performance evaluations incorporating 360 feedback
Coaches, mentors, and trains team colleagues on a continuous basis
Oversee EBG Technology Solution Systems, their infrastructure, and administration
Develop long term strategic business plan for EBG Technology Team that is scalable for rapid firm growth
Oversee Project Management process, vendor support services, and technology solutions access
Develop and communicate solutions to resolve complex issues
Oversee EDI with insurance companies, HRIS, and payroll systems; manage RFIs for clients adopting new Payroll systems
Negotiate Fees for systems and services
Represent organization at national meetings
Research and identify new products, system developments, database management and administration trends
Evaluate and establish procedures/technologies to ensure system security
Partner with leadership team to assess how EBG Technology Solutions can best streamline processes and add business value, create an equivalent electronic process to improve business speed and internal costs
Encourages Technology team to analyze, evaluate and prioritize requirements to deliver business process or automated application solutions to address business needs
Promotes the firm culture and a high degree of client satisfaction
Looks for opportunities to improve the firm, Business Segment and processes; brings issues and discrepancies to the attention of appropriate leadership
Completes special projects as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum of five (5) years working experience with benefit administration systems, payroll systems and/or HRIS systems and team leadership experience
Superb client relations skills with the ability to diffuse tense situations
Experience in working and configuring an HRIS Database
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Possesses an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manipulate data, compare two data sets, perform pivot tables and lookups.
Demonstrates strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
Demonstrates effective presentation skills through both verbal and written communications.
Possesses the ability to learn appropriate insurance company and firm software systems.
Possesses the ability to grow in benefits product knowledge.
Demonstrates the ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads while maintaining deadlines.
Demonstrates the ability to interact and communicate effectively within a team environment to share knowledge and manage workflows.
Current Florida 2-15 License, as required by the State Department of Insurance to provide risk management consulting or risk transfer solutions as necessary in states where the firm functions
Must demonstrate core values, exuding behavior aligned with the firm’s culture.
Special Working Conditions:
Fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
Periodic local travel may be required.
The starting salary is $185,000-$204,000 annually. Salary is negotiable upon time of hire.
