Develop Security Coding Guidelines

I need a concise, practical set of coding rules that zero in on secure-by-design practices. The end product should read like an internal standard any developer on my team can pick up and apply immediately, regardless of project size or framework.

What matters most to me is clarity and real-world applicability: guidelines that flag common attack surfaces, prescribe safe patterns, and illustrate both “do” and “don’t” examples. Feel free to draw on OWASP, MITRE, or other respected references if they strengthen the reasoning, but every rule must be expressed in my own organisation’s plain language so it slots straight into a living style guide.

Deliverables
• A structured rules document (Markdown or Google Doc) covering secure coding practices from input handling through dependency management and deployment.
• A brief rationale or example snippet for each rule so its intent is unmistakable.
• A one-page quick-reference checklist developers can print or embed in a wiki.
