I have a desktop / laptop with an empty drive and I need a clean, fully working Linux installation on it. The machine has no operating system at the moment, so the job starts from creating bootable media and finishes when I can log in, see a familiar desktop environment, and connect to the internet without issues.
You are free to choose a beginner-friendly distribution such as Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Fedora, or any other you consider stable for everyday tasks—I am mainly looking for a smooth graphical experience, reliable driver support, and automatic security updates.
Here is what I expect:
• Prepare the installation media, handle partitioning, and install the chosen distro.
• Configure essential drivers (graphics, Wi-Fi, sound) so everything works out of the box.
• Create my primary user account, set the timezone, and apply the latest system updates.
• Leave me with a short post-install summary that lists the distro, desktop environment, and any extra steps I might need to repeat in the future.
The work can be done via a live session (e.g., AnyDesk, TeamViewer) if physical access is needed, or you can supply clear step-by-step instructions and remain on standby while I follow them.
Once the desktop boots normally and all basic hardware is recognized, I will consider the task complete and release the milestone.
