Card Game Designer Needed – Deceivers
About me and my vision
I’m a first-time founder building my own party game brand, with the ambition of growing it into something recognisable and successful. I’m looking for an affordable, creative designer who can help bring my vision to life, contribute original ideas and help me create a product that stands out.
I have a clear direction for the brand, but I value working with someone who can think beyond the brief and suggest ways to make the game more exciting and visually distinctive.
About Deceivers
Deceivers is an 18+ social deduction party game that combines Mafia, bluffing and Truth or Dare. It’s designed for friend groups who enjoy drama, competition, revealing secrets and testing how well they really know each other.
At the beginning of the game, players are secretly assigned roles: Truth Tellers or Deceivers. Truth Tellers must answer truth questions honestly or face a forfeit. Deceivers, however, can lie, bluff, manipulate conversations and even pretend to be honest to avoid being discovered. They must keep their identity secret and cannot deliberately reveal their role unless they are called out.
Each round involves truth or dare challenges, with players trying to work out who they can trust. At the end of each round, everyone votes on who they suspect is a Deceiver. The aim is to create tension, hilarious arguments, unexpected revelations and moments where players question everything their friends say.
The game should feel unpredictable and immersive. Players should feel like they’re part of a psychological game where anyone could be lying, and even the most convincing person in the room might be the Deceiver.
The brand identity
I want Deceivers to feel dark, mysterious, bold and slightly sinister, with a premium finish. The visual direction uses black, red, white and grey, with strong typography, subtle textures and warning-style graphics.
The wider brand will feature a recurring Game Master character who gives the games a recognisable identity. The character is calculated, unsettling and mysterious, adding to the feeling that players are entering a world where secrets are exposed and nobody is entirely safe from suspicion.
I want the design to feel original rather than generic, childish or overly cluttered. I have AI-generated reference images to communicate the general direction, but these are inspiration only. I’m looking for a designer who can develop the concepts professionally and bring their own creative ideas.
Cards I need designed
* Truth cards: Personal and revealing questions that encourage honest answers.
* Dare cards: Fun, bold or challenging tasks for players to complete.
* Forfeit cards: Penalties for refusing or failing to complete a challenge.
* Truth Teller role cards: Tell players they must answer truthfully or face a forfeit.
* Deceiver role cards: Tell players they must deceive the group and avoid being identified.
* Call Your Bluff cards: Used to challenge another player’s claims and put them under pressure.
I need approximately six core card-face designs, with editable templates I can duplicate and update myself. The cards will be 63 × 88 mm, and I also need coordinated card backs and print-ready files.
Budget and collaboration
My budget is approximately £150 for the card designs, so I need someone who can work efficiently and help me achieve the best result within that budget. Editable source files are essential, as I will be producing the individual cards using the templates.
I’m building this business from the ground up, and my first game is only the beginning. I’d love to find a designer who is interested in the bigger vision and could potentially collaborate with me on future games as the brand grows.
Please share examples of relevant work, what you can deliver within my budget, and any creative ideas you have for making Deceivers stand out.
I’ve included some Ai images so you can see the vibe I want from my cards and box. But don’t take it is a blueprint the aim is something unique that communicates the vibe of my game well
