Project Description
I am looking for an experienced Delphi developer to recover and modernize an existing Windows application used to operate an automotive fuel injector testing bench.
Technical Details
- Programming language: Delphi / Object Pascal.
- Application protection: Themida.
- Database: Microsoft Access (ACCDB) via ACE.OLEDB.
- Reported database encryption: AES-256.
- Protected test-plan files.
- Existing hardware binding to a specific testing bench.
Scope of Work
1. Analyze the application's architecture, protection mechanisms, and internal logic.
2. Recover clean, readable, and well-structured source code suitable for future editing and maintenance.
3. Reconstruct the Delphi project and provide buildable source code where technically feasible.
4. Identify and document database access parameters, key-management mechanisms, and test-plan file handling.
5. Analyze the hardware-binding mechanism and adapt the application to support other compatible testing benches where technically and legally permitted.
6. Provide technical documentation and demonstrate the recovered functionality.
Deliverables
- Readable and maintainable Delphi source code, where recoverable.
- Reconstructed project files and build instructions.
- Database access documentation.
- Technical documentation of the application's functionality and hardware compatibility.
Budget: $350 fixed price
Deadline: 5 days

- Strong experience with Delphi and Object Pascal.
- Windows application reverse engineering and legacy software recovery.
- Microsoft Access, ACCDB, ACE.OLEDB, and database encryption.
- Experience with hardware-dependent software is an advantage.
Please describe your experience with similar projects, your proposed technical approach, and what can realistically be delivered within the specified budget and timeframe.
The work must be performed with appropriate authorization from the software owner or rights holder.
