I need a clear, production-ready schematic that lets me vary the speed of a DC motor smoothly and repeatably. The goal is a stand-alone circuit I can hand straight to my PCB team or prototype on a breadboard without extra guesswork.

Here is what I’m after:
• A complete schematic showing every component and connection required for precise speed control of a single DC motor.
• A concise Bill of Materials with component values, part numbers, and readily available footprints.
• Any design notes that explain how the circuit regulates speed and protects the motor (e.g., soft-start, over-current safeguards, thermal considerations).
• Optional but welcome: a quick LTspice, Multisim, KiCad, Altium, or Eagle file so I can simulate or drop the design into my layout immediately.

The circuit must allow clean, user-adjustable speed changes. Direction control is not required; focus exclusively on reliable speed regulation. I’m open to your preferred approach—whether it’s a dedicated PWM controller IC, a simple op-amp based regulator, or a microcontroller solution—as long as the final design is efficient and parts can be sourced easily.

Please share any questions you have about supply voltage, expected load, or environmental limits so we can lock down the key parameters before you dive into the schematic. Once those details are clear I’d like the completed files delivered in a single package, ready for review and build.
